Mainland
It is not only the Historic Centre of Venice that offers places of interest for the tourists loving art and culture: beyond Venice there is an entire world to be discovered, without going too far! Starting from Mestre, just on the other side of the bridge of the Liberty that connects Venice with the mainland one can discover a multitude of old churches, fortifications, and public squares often animated by open air markets.
Throwing oneself in a long gone past it is possible to walk along the ancient street traced by the Romans that have left in the area an impressive quantity of evidences of their past settlement.
Not to be missed in the Mainland: Ferretto's Square and the Tower of Mestre, the Park of Saint Giuliano, the medieval small cities of Mirano and Noale.
