Up and down bridges
"Su e zo per i ponti" is one of many non competitive sport contests scheduled in Venice in the good season.
The march normally takes place on a Sunday in March (but the date changes every year) and it is an event cherished by Venetians and by many others from all over the world.
The march starts from the "ponte della Paglia" and continue down narrow and dark alleyways, on the squares of the city, crossing nearly all the Sestieri to then reach once more Saint Mark Square.
